Over the last three years, Sant’ Ansovino has been lovingly restored into a luxury self catering holiday home using original materials. As a result, the Monastery has been restored with an attention to detail seldom seen today. Originally a 12th century Benedictine monastery, it can be found nestling in the breathtaking and tranquil hills of central Italy at the crossroads of Tuscany, Umbria and Le Marche. Any original feature that could be saved has been, and much of the work has been completed by hand. But Sant’Ansovino isn’t a museum, it’s a home where children play, and adults relax around the fire with a glass of wine. The owners, whilst keeping true to the spirit of the place, have incorporated their own needs into the renovation so that the monastery also incorporates modern conveniences such as en-suite marble bathrooms, ISDN telephone/internet links, a large American-sized fridge, professional range cooker, and a heated swimming pool.
